I have been asked this question so many times, I decided to write a dedicated blog post and reply to my readers.

Yes, I have a few successful affiliate websites, and I would like to show you how much money you can make in 2024. Some influencers in the digital marketing world think that affiliate marketing is dead, but I think this is not the case.
Affiliate marketing is definitely changing each year, but it’s far from dead. It’s still one of the best investments to get a regular income month after month.
Here’s why I think so.
How Much Money Can You Make From Affiliate Marketing
Income Stream | Average Monthly Revenue ( Last 24 Months ) |
Amazon Associates | $1,954 |
AvantLink | $850 |
Ad Revenue | $930 |
Other | $60 |
Total | $3,794 |
As you can see, this website ( which I can’t disclose ) makes on average $3,794 per month. This is absolutely doable for most people in many niches and verticals. You can expect to make between $2,000 and $5,000 with at least 15K to 50K organic traffic.
How Long Does It Take To Make Money with Affiliate Marketing?
Generally speaking, it will depend on the niche and the angle of the website, but for most verticals with low to medium competition, you can expect to make your first dollars within the first 6 to 8 months. But it really depends on the effort and the content you put on your website.
Let’s say you published 100 to 150 articles within the first 6 months. In this case, you should expect to earn $3K to $5K per month after 1 to 2 years of work. But as I already mentioned, this will depend on competition, keyword research, the average price of an item in the niche, etc.

How Many Income Streams Should I Have
The simple answer here is as many as possible. But in my experience, you will be fine with 3 to 4 income streams, including affiliate revenue, ad revenue, and digital products. Depending on your vertical, you might add other income streams, like selling some of your own products on Etsy.
Is Amazon Affiliate Still Worth It?
Absolutely! This screenshot below shows that Amazon Associates is still a good affiliate program that pays well. It has Amazon conversion rates that compensate for the low payouts.
Is Amazon Getting Rid of Affiliate Program?
Amazon is slashing commission rates each year, and many affiliates think that they will completely get rid of the program in a few years. But that’s not the case, in my opinion. They will keep the program, but it will be profitable only for a few massive players in the niche.
The good news is you can find many good affiliate programs that pay well and compete with Amazon Associates.
